This was a typical KP 1 night! The solar storm speed was only 325 km/s... but, she`s a tricky lady - Lady Aurora...
It started with a faint band low on the north sky, but then she begin to climb and our "secret" Aurora forecast said it should come some more around 10 pm, and then a bigger one before 11.30 pm, so we waited... and my guests didn`t went dissapointed home.

It`s pity for the Aurora chasers across the fjord which left 5 mins before the sky exploted, and the driver didn`t stop when the sky was dancing crazy... so, be sure you choose the right guide when you have travel far for your life experience...

Went out on a long tour with my good friend and colleague Marcus in @Explore the Arctic for checking out some new spots far east of Tromsø... inside Finland. We drove to Finland where the forecast said 100% clear sky, since it was important to have clear sky on the south sky, cause the high activity.

It was a tricky night with a weather forecast who was totally wrong, so all guides was swirring around to different location where the sky got little clear here and there... little pity we didn`t drove to Finland, where it was first bad weather, but later great clear sky and a good Aurora show... what we could see on the night sky cameras...

An lovely relaxed evening at one of my favorite lakes with lovely company of this british couple who joined me for two chases. On our way home the activity got increased and we needed to make several stops for capture the beauty of Lady Aurora.

This night the clouds arrived fast from the south and covered all the sky, so it was only one thing to do... head far north fast as possible for keep the sky clear... and thanks for an early show... it started slowly with an faint spike and then all the sky was dancing crazy with a 3 colors Aurora show...

Patience is King!

A long time waiting around the campfire tonight was necessary and 15 mins before I was planning to return to the city we got it... first a faint spike and then it was crossing all over the northern sky... it was probably better one hour later, but then we was back in the city...

It was a tricky night re; the weather... it says high clouds and we had haze most of the evening, so the NL wasn`t so bright most of the evening, so we missed a lot of the huge activity, until the final show arrived 30 mins past midnight... we could even see three colors through the misty clouds... the activtiy went south to Europe this night...

It was an easy chase tonight... with clear sky over the city and early activity, so we made the first stop five km north of the airport on the island Kvaløya... then we continued to my home on Ringvassøya island, where we relaxed on the jetty (picture) and on my beach with a campfire... Guests was happy with a really good Aurora show, so we was back in the city at midnight...
