We started the evening from Tromsø with seven guests, heading towards Kattfjordeidet, 25 km west for our first stop. Already early in the evening, the Aurora appeared — a stunning show of dancing lights in green, pink, and purple hues, moving dynamically across the sky.

Later, we continued to Grøtfjord, where the display intensified even more. The sky opened beautifully between passing clouds, and despite strong winds, the energy was fantastic — both in the sky and among the group. Swirling Auroras, fast movements, and vivid colors filled the horizon, while Jupiter shone brightly above a stunning starry backdrop.

It was a night full of laughter, warmth, and awe, with an unforgettable Arctic display and great company. We returned to Tromsø after six hours, finishing an incredible Aurora night.

  • Weather Tromsø: Partly cloudy with some clear gaps / calm wind / mild temperatures around 0°C.
  • Destination / weather: Kvaløyvågen / GG`s Camp / Dåfjord / partly cloudy with good clear openings.

  • Wildlife: Several reindeers.
  • Space show: Shooting stars and bright Jupiter visible.

We began the evening with ten guests, departing Tromsø and heading north west towards Kvaløyvågen for our first stop. Already early in the evening, the Aurora burst to life with a big, bright explosion that painted the sky in vibrant green tones. It was one of those nights where the show started early and strong.

After the first display, we moved north towards Ringvassøya, stopping by Gunnar’s camp, and later continued to Dåfjord in search of clearer skies. Cloud cover came and went, but we managed to find solid openings with more beautiful Aurora activity. Another strong burst lit up the sky over Dåfjord, creating a stunning contrast against the snow-covered landscape.

The temperature hovered around freezing, the atmosphere was calm, and the group enjoyed a night full of excitement — with reindeer sightings, shooting stars, and Jupiter shining bright above. We returned to Tromsø after seven and a half hours on the road, wrapping up another memorable Arctic night under a spectacular Aurora sky.

Branding `The first Aurora Guide`

  • Aurora Chase with Guide Andreas
  • Guests / Country: 8 guests from South Korea, Singapore, Australia, China and USA.
  • Weather Tromsø: Snowfall / light wind / cold temperatures..
  • Destination / weather: Dåfjord / Grunnfjord / cloudy with some clear breaks and snow-covered landscapes. Windy.
  • Aurora activity: 1/10.
  • Aurora show: Only a faint Aurora ark in east. Little red on camera.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Nothing !
  • Tour km: 200.
  • Tour hrs: 8.
  • Wildlife: One reindeer.
  • Space show: Several shooting stars.

We began the evening with eight guests, heading west from Tromsø toward Ringvassøya and Dåfjord. The landscape was beautifully covered in snow, creating a perfect winter atmosphere.

At our first stop in Dåfjord, we made a large bonfire, enjoyed local lefse and sweet hot drink, and did some star spotting. We saw several shooting stars streak across the clear sky and also noticed a few bright satellites passing by.

Later, we continued up into the mountains above Dåfjord for slightly better weather and colder conditions. The snow deepened as we climbed, and we briefly spotted a tiny faint Aurora low in the east — hardly visible to the eye, but still a small moment of Northern lights.

Afterward, we received an update that the weather looked clearer toward Grunnfjord, so we continued west. There we were met with strong northern winds straight in our faces, but also a few beautiful sights — a touch of Aurora with red and pink hues, another shooting star, and Jupiter shining bright next to the Andromeda constellation, clearly visible this night.

It turned into a calm but beautiful evening with great stargazing, a little aurora, and wonderful company around the fire. We stayed in Grunnfjord until almost 00:30, and returned to Tromsø around 02:00, finishing another memorable Arctic night.

A couple by the fjord under the sky of the Northern Lights

  • Aurora Chase with Guide Andreas
  • Guests / Country: 6 guests from Singapore and USA.
  • Weather Tromsø: Cloudy / a few degrees above zero.
  • Destination / weather: Lyngen fjord – Hatteng and Kvesmenes / partly cloudy with occasional clear. breaks.
  • Aurora activity: 5/10.
  • Aurora show: .
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Soft green.
  • Tour km: 240.
  • Tour hrs: 8.
  • Wildlife: One fox spotted along the road near Hatteng

We departed Tromsø under cloudy skies and mild temperatures, heading south east towards my home area of Lyngen and the Hatteng region.

Our first stop was next to my house in Kvesmenes, where we were greeted with a beautiful first Northern Lights display shimmering above the Lyngen Fjord, the Alps glowing faintly across the water.

As the weather shifted, we continued towards Skibotn, known as Norway’s driest place, hoping for clearer conditions. The forecast didn’t held, so we returned to the Hatteng area and drove up into Signaldalen, where we have a private parking spot. There we enjoyed a short aurora show before the clouds closed in again.

While waiting for another weather window, we made a bonfire and served cake and hot toddy to the locals — a cosy pause in the night.

Later, we continued toward Balsfjord, where a small aurora appeared over the sea. On the return towards Tromsø, a faint green glow suddenly grew stronger; we stopped by a beautiful roadside spot with a fantastic view and watched the best show of the night, a vivid dancing Aurora curtain that closed our chase beautifully. We returned to Tromsø around 02:00.

A couple under the sky of Aurora between the clouds

  • Aurora Chase with Guide Andreas
  • Guests / Country: 2 guests from Singapore.
  • Weather Tromsø: Rainy and cloudy.
  • Destination / weather: Finnish Lapland +30 km / Helligskogen / cloudy / gaps in the clouds.
  • Aurora activity: 3/10.
  • Aurora show: Faint auroral movement and a few green pulsations. Some spikes and curls.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Nothing !
  • Tour km: 370.
  • Tour hrs: 8,5.
  • Wildlife: Four moose and three red foxes.

Despite heavy clouds and rain in Tromsø, we set our course towards Finland and crossed "into Sweden", chasing the clear skies around Keinovuopio. Even there, the clouds kept challenging us, but back across the border near Helligskogen we finally caught faint auroral movement and a few green pulsations through the gaps.

A tough night, yet still a small victory — and the close encounters with moose and red foxes made it a truly memorable tour.

Northern Lights over the church and graveyard in the forest

  • Aurora Chase with Guide Andreas
  • Guests / Country: 2 guests from France.
  • Weather Tromsø: Mild / partially cloudy.
  • Destination / weather: Dåfjord, Ringvassøya / clear skies.
  • Aurora activity: 8/10.
  • Aurora show: Calm at first, then dancing with pink tones and spiking movements once it intensified. A truly beautiful display, though short-lived.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Green and pink hues clearly visible.
  • Tour km: 130.
  • Tour hrs: 6,5.
  • Wildlife: One white grouse and 20 reindeers.

The evening began with a magical encounter on Kvaløya, where about 20 reindeer were standing by the roadside. We stopped and turned around to get closer. While GuideGunnar illuminated them with the bus lights, I headed out with the guests, closing the distance to about 50 meters — an unforgettable wildlife moment.

Afterward, we continued to Gunnar’s home at Bjørnskar, famous for its clear skies. We paused there for the first Aurora photos before continuing deeper into the valley to one of my favorite spots.

A large bonfire, traditional lefse, and a warm sweet drink set the scene as we waited. The Aurora began softly, but later danced beautifully across the sky, making the night truly special.

October 20th - Private Aurora Chase
Milky Way and Aurora on the clear sky over the dark forest

  • Guests / Country: 3 guests from Brasil.
  • Weather Tromsø: Cloudy / rain.
  • Destination / weather: Dividalen valley / clear.
  • Aurora activity: 4/10.
  • Aurora show: Just a stripe on the north sky, spikes and little curtains.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: White.
  • Tour km: 285.
  • Tour hrs: 6,5.
  • Wildlife: One white rabbit (hare).

After three nights in row towards and into Finland it was good that the sky was clear at other locations too, so I decided to drive to Dividalen valley little further south, so we could escape from the chaos.

So, while the crowds went towards Finland, we was out in the silence with only 3-4 other buses, which was further down in the valley, but when I head this way I like to drive close to the top for the best overview of the valley surrounded with majestetic mountains and massive pain trees.

The Lady was lazy in the beginning with only an ark low on the north sky with. some spikes, and when she was getting more active around 11 pm, then we was already on the half way back to the city, since my guests wanted to return early ... which they have the full right on, since it`s theirs Private Chase ... but, they had also seen the very good show the night before, so ...

The major peak (7/10 ?) this night was around 1 am, and at 3 am the show was probably incredible good (8-10/10 ?), but then I also slept quite well home ...

I have seen it before during my +2,100 nights out since the beginning in 2006, so it`s the same for me how crazy the Lady Aurora is when I am home, since I am less Aurora Addicted than I was before ...

October 19th
A gang of people under the sky of the Northern Lights

  • Guests / Country: 11 guests from India, France, Canada, Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Weather Tromsø: Cloudy / rain.
  • Destination / weather: Beach Skibotn / Holy Forest / Finnish Lapland +5 km / part clear / cloudy / snow / clear.
  • Aurora activity: 8/10.
  • Aurora show: All over and far south, curls, spikes and dancing curtains. And a small corona.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Bright green, little pink.
  • Tour km: 330.
  • Tour hrs: 8.
  • Wildlife: One moose.

I should have learn me this game now ...

The best forecasted weather was in Finnish Lapland 160 km SE, so there we went ... and then I begin to play against my first plan ... simple cause the sky was super clear already after 45 km south from the city, and it was an incoming Aurora show around 8 pm ...

I decided to take a stop in Nordkjosbotn for a toilet visit, and then stop in the next valley, Signaldalen, but there it was suddenly overcast ... so, we continued to Skibotn 120 km on our way to the east, and we got the show at 8 pm, but then the clouds came alro there ...

The we drove further towards Finland, but had to make one more stop in Helligskogen, 15 km before the border since it was a lovely Pink Aurora dancing on the east sky, but there was no safe place to stop, and when we finally stopped the show was over ...

And then it came a rush of buses, which probably had stopped before for watch the first show ... and then probably all the good spots in Finland already was taken ... but, we haven`t any other choice to check it out, so we continued.

5 km inside the border, one of my "secret spot" wasn`t taken, probably because it`s very close to all the street lights at the custom station close by, but it didn`t destroyed our clear sky from east to west, where we had a finally show.

So, I set camp fire and served my guests hot drink and snacks and shot a lot of lovely pics of Aurora and my guests.

On the return we was very close to get a huge moose in front of the bus, since it suddenly came out from the forest and crossed the road, which was icy, so I couldn`t break so hard I liked to, for avoid sliding ...

October 18th
Faint colorful Auroras over the road and naked mountain landscape

  • Guests / Country: 3 guests from India.
  • Weather Tromsø: Cloudy / rain.
  • Destination / weather: The Finnish border / part clear / haze.
  • Aurora activity: 6/10.
  • Aurora show: All over and far south, curls, spikes and curtains. An faint Corona.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Bright greeb, little pink.
  • Tour km: 310.
  • Tour hrs: 7.
  • Wildlife: 2 moose and 2 foxes.
  • Space show: A couple of shooting stars.

I was actually planned to cancel tonight`s chase cause too bad weather ... getting quite tired of it ... which I normally don´t do cause bad weather, only by dangerous driving conditions ... but, when only 2 of 5 guests could postpone for the next night, then I still drove out ...

And of course, the clouds are moving, so you never knew where the opening are coming, and tonight it came closer to the border than expected, since my first plan was to drive far into Finnish Lapland ...

NB! Black wet ashfalt can be quite scary ... especially for them who don`t know it can be invisible ice on the roads ...

I didn`t think so much about it when we came behind a 50 seats bus which suddenly turned on the emergency lights ... and it was first when I saw the bus was sliding sideways I understood the reason why the bus was slowing down the speed ...

So, when I slow down the speed and use the brakes, then my minibus also slided sideway ...

While a third minibus just passed us in full speed ... I guess they didn`t understood what`s going on there ...

I got actually little scared there, so I decided to stop at the border, and take the evening there ... simple cause I was thinking about the mountains 30 km further in, and how lazy the finnish road authories are, especially in the weekends ...

Our private Sky Cameras didn`t either showed better conditions further in, so ...

But, we was lucky since the sky was partly clear and Lady Aurora was quite active with three colors on camera and with Aurora all over the sky, even far south ...

It was too many buses there at the beginning, but they left so we got the silence by being alone on the border ... but, two minibuses arrived later, but they was quiet, so it was just perfect.

I wished that we had drove further in for better clear sky, but my guests was super happy of what they saw, so then it`s good for me too ;)

October 17th
Curling Aurora across the sky

  • Guests / Country: 13 guests from Germany, Australia, Singapore, India, Hong Kong and UK.
  • Weather Tromsø: Cloudy / rain / snow.
  • Destination / weather: Galggogobba (by the Finnish border) / part clear.
  • Aurora activity: 4/10.
  • Aurora show: Couple of faint stripes across the sky, curls and spikes, then a little bright formation.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Faint green.
  • Tour km: 305.
  • Tour hrs: 7,5.

Before tonight`s chase I didn`t had any time for check the weather, so I was little lost when we left the city ... especially when none of my nearest colleagues was out ...

So, then it was only one thing to do ... drive to the first gas station in Nordkjosbotn, 70 km south, and check and think ... where should we drive in this tricky conditions ... south or east ?

The sky cameras in Karesuando showed a quite good sky, but it`s 200 km away, and the weather forecast showed the clouds should cove rall over later ...

So, I decided to still go east and far inside the Finnish Lapland, since when the clouds are moving it can suddely appear a hole anywhere ...

Just before the border, it was a chasing group who was pointed theirs cameras towards west sky, so I stopped and checked, and yes; we had partly clear sky with a little touch of something green ... on the camera ... white for the eyes.

The question became a thinking issue for me ... will it last, or should we gamble and just stay ? Or drive further ...

Tonight I had the patience enough to wait and see, and didn`t rush and that`s the best choice tonight, since after I set camp fire and served my guests some hot drinks and sweet snacks, the sky even got better and up to 70% clear.

Decided to leave 11.30 pm cause the Aurora activity was slim and it showed nothing better soon, but so wrong you can take, since 20 mins before we got a nice and bright one all over the sky, so it lifted my points from 1 to 2 and finally 4.

Wasn`t the greates show tonight, but we take all we can get ;)

October 16th
A girl in front of the dark forest with a sky filled up of the Northern Lights

  • Aurora Chase with Guide Andreas
  • Guests / Country: 8 guests from Hong Kong and UK.
  • Weather Tromsø: Cloudy / rain / sleet.
  • Destination / weather: Finnish border / Finnish Lapland +30 km / part clear.
  • Aurora activity: 5/10.
  • Aurora show: Several stripes across the sky, curls, spikes and little dancing curtains.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Bright green.
  • Tour km: 370.
  • Tour hrs: 8,5.

It was our first snowy tour of the season. Windy conditions with sleet and some fresh snow as we left Tromsø. We crossed into Finland and made our first stop next to the National Mountain of Finland, Saana, where we got a beautiful Aurora show. While standing around the bonfire with local sweet drink and cake, the clouds rolled in and covered the sky.

We continued toward the Swedish border near Keinovuopio, where we got another great show under colder and clearer conditions, with temperatures a few degrees below zero and a light wind.

Fantastic group and atmosphere. Returned to Tromsø around 2:30 am.

October 13th
Northern lights over the trees and the dark mountains

  • Guests / Country: 7 guests from Belgium, Switzerland, Taiwan, Spain and USA.
  • Weather Tromsø: Clear.
  • Destination / weather: Lakselvbukt / Signaldalen valley / clear / cloudy / part clear.
  • Aurora activity: 6/10.
  • Aurora show: All over and far south, curls, spikes and little pink dancing curtains. Couple of faint corona.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Green and little pink.
  • Tour km: 255.
  • Tour hrs: 8.
  • Wildlife: One fox and one moose.
  • Space show: One bright and fast fireball.

It was strange to leave Tromsø and the coast area in perfect clear sky, but a huge incoming weather front was on the way from south-west, so I decided to leave further into the country side for be safer, in a valley under the amazing mountain wall Lyngen Alps ...

When we arrived the activity begin faint, but it didn`t took long time before the Lady was active and we got a nice Aurora show, but I decided to just stay there in a short time since there was no wind, so I liked to move us down to the fjord for reflections ... and camp fire.

But, we begin to drive we drove straight into the clouds ... which was coming faster than I first thought, so we had to escape the area fro finding a better clear location further east ... so, via a stop at a gas station for toilet, we drove to Signaldalen valley for get the next show under the amazing beautiful mountain; Otertind - our own Toblerone Mountain, 100 km east of the city.

The pity thing when you`ve to move, it`s always a risk for loosing the best show ... and of course, that happened while we was driving ...

We got little more later, but nothing like that show which I could see on many of our private sky cameras in the area, while we was driving ...

So, I set camp fire and served my guests hot drink and lefse, a sweet local made pastry.

Back in the city at 2 am with my guests, but when I arrived the tunnel to my island, it was closed and it shouldn`t open before at 6 am, so I took me an longer nap in the bus ... waked up at 7.15 am and drove home ...

October 12th - Private Aurora Chase
Colorful Aurora with spikes and reflections in the lake

  • Guests / Country: 1 guest from Israel.
  • Weather Tromsø: Cloudy / rain.
  • Destination / weather: Holy Forest / Lake Kilpis / part clear / clear.
  • Aurora activity: 8/10.
  • Aurora show: All over and far south, curls, spikes and colorful curtains. Little dancing.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Green and faint pink.
  • Tour km: 330.
  • Tour hrs: 8.
  • Wildlife: One fox and one reindeer.
  • Space show: One faint fireball.

Before tonight chase I didn`t had so much time to check the weather, but some of my colleagues mention `east` so there we went ... but, I didn´t really capture what many of the other guides saw; it was already good enough sky 90-100 km away from the city, so most of them stopped along the Lyngen fjord ...

I checked one place in the same area, but it was too cloudy ... and when we drove further all locations along the road was packed with buses, so since I am selling silence I just continued ... also cause I thought the better show should come in 45 mins, but I probably calculate wrong there ...

So, when we stopped after 150 km close to the border with a very good clear sky, the show was over ... but, I saw on one of our private sky cameras that the sky in Kilpisjärvi was close to 100% clear, so I decided to drive to the lake for wait for the next show .. which I was hoping should arrive cause the very good activity.

And there was activity all over, but very faint ... so we had to wait ... so, then we walked down to the lake where I set camp fire on the rocks just on the edge of the lake, and served some snacks and hot drink ... and then we just relaxed and waited in the totally silence ...

It was a magic moment ...

And then it suddenly started on the NW sky, and it got better and better ... but, then we got in more clouds ... very bad timing ... but, when the show contiuned on the south sky of the stripe who had been there for a while, then all clouds dissapear and we got a very special moment with a very colorful Aurora ...

My guest was happy, so we returned back towards the city just before midnight ... which was great for me too, since I still felt the last night long and late chase in my body ;)

Two girls under the sky of the Northern Lights

  • Guests / Country: 4 guests from Taiwan, Ireland and Germany.
  • Weather Tromsø: Cloudy / rain.
  • Destination / weather: Finnish Lapland +75 km / part clear / 90% clear.
  • Aurora activity: 10/10.

  • Tour km: 455.
  • Tour hrs: 9,5.
  • Wildlife: Two reindeers.
  • Space show: One quick and bright fireball.

What a crazy beautiful Aurora Corona Bonanza show !!

It`s pity for all the Aurora travelers which choose to spend the evening in rainy Tromsø ... it`s time to learn how a good Aurora Guide are working, and get to know that bad weather in the city is no matter ...

That`s the reason why we created "Chase the Northern Lights" for 19 years ago ... it`s not a question of chasing the lights, but find the best clear sky, for give our guests a nice experience like this ...

Only four guests tonight, but I am giving the same service for 1 or 16 ;)

Just before we came to the Finnish border we got reports from guides in front that inside Finland was`nt so good as forecasted, so several of my colleagues stopped up and chased in the cloud holes they had, but since they was staying there I just the only thing to do was following my got feeling, and that still said `far inside the border` so there we went with success.

It was not perfect +75 km inside the border, but 60-70% clear was good enough, and after a while it got better and better, and then my colleagues also begin the long drive after us ...

I lit a camp fire and then we just had to wait, since the activity was slim with only a few faint stripes across the sky ... but, our very good Aurora forecast showed something great should start around 11.30 pm, so I understand it should be a late return to the city ...

And at 11.15 pm the activity suddenly started on the south sky with some very nice spikes, and then the real show started few mins later with a crazy good and colorful; It was ready for a real Rock`n`Roll show of Lady Aurora.

We arrived Tromsø again at 3.30 am ...

  • Visible for the naked eyes: Bright green / little red glowing.
  • Tour km: 205.
  • Tour hrs: 7,5.

A great evening with lively auroral activity, excellent inland conditions, and a happy group of guests enjoying a truly memorable northern lights experience — crowned with a strong final show on the way back.

Traveled inland towards Balsfjord, by the sea and further inland in between the mountains of Lyngen Alps and Tamokdalen valley, to escape artificial light and find clearer skies. Conditions improved significantly, offering good visibility and a stable, clear sky later in the evening.

Early weak activity followed by a beautiful and dynamic Northern Lights display later in the evening. Movements were flowing and continuous, with green colors clearly visible to the naked eye.

On the way back, we stopped again for a strong and powerful Aurora, catching most of the show. A brief but intense red burst appeared earlier, which we couldn’t stop for, but we still enjoyed a nice additional display on the return.

  • Guests / Country: 6 guests from Italy, Taiwan, China and USA.
  • Weather Tromsø: Part clear.
  • Destination / weather: Kvaløya / Ringvassøya / part clear / Mostly clear, just some spread clouds.
  • Aurora activity: 3/10.
  • Aurora show: Just a couple of faint stripes across the sky.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Faint green.
  • Tour km: 105.

A couple under the partly clear sky with a faint stripe of Aurora

  • Aurora Chase with Guide Andreas
  • Guests / Country: 2 guests from USA.

  • Aurora activity: 2/10.
  • Aurora show: Faint stripes of Aurora only.
  • Visible for the naked eyes: Faint white.
  • Tour km: 110.
  • Tour hrs: 7.

We left the city and drove west towards Sommarøy for escape from the rain and cloudy sky ... it was still cloudy when we arrived, but at least the weather forecast said it should be better later, so it was a little risky, but sometimes you`ve to gamble in this game ...

Four hours later, little delayed re; the weather forecast, the clouds began to leave the sky around 11 pm, and we could enjoy little of Lady Aurora`s performance, but she was lazy tonight ...

Strong wind and little rain through most of the evening ...

On the return the guests got an experience of what we`re fighting with nowadays; too many cowboys in the city, which some of them are driving illegal, so the police ++ had a huge control on the both side of the city for capture most of them who was out ... and seven companies was banned to drive further, cause not having the legal papers and insurance in order, so theirs guests had to "walk home" ...

So, dear Aurora travelers; it`s smart to join one of the local guides who has all papers in order, for get the best experience out under the sky of the Northern Lights ... maybe and probably little bit more expensive, but it`s not cheap to run a business in Norway.

On the return, we followed the clearer weather back towards Tromsø, maintaining 30–60% visibility in shifting conditions. No Aurora activity was seen ...

Strong wind on the way back made driving challenging, with heavy gusts pushing the bus, but roads were in good condition and traffic was light.

I was first thinking about to drive west to lovely Grøtfjord with the beautiful fjords- and mountains area, but the half way I understand the wind was "too strong" over there for have a nice time outdoors, so I turned around and headed north instead.

After a couple of short stops for see Aurora on blue sky we ended up at my home, where we relaxed on the beach and the jetty in a lovely evening temperature, and there was no wind ... so, the reflections of Aurora in the sea was just beautiful.

After the intense Pink Aurora show it went very quiet on the sky, so I lit the camp fire and served some sweet snacks ... and since I was home, I also bring out some chairs so we could even relax more ...

Since Lady Aurora didn`t show up with any great performance on the sky, then we headed back to the city and into the clouds, after that we waited a while for any news ...

Tonight it was an easy game ... but, clouds all over the coast when I went into the city, make me think little ... will they leave, or was I needed to drive into the country side ... so, I gambled and went towards west to one of the most lovely locations we have, at Sommarøy islands.

When we arrived the clouds was mostly out over the ocean, so we set camp and lit the bonfire at our "private beach" where I again was joining my colleague Dan with some hundreds meters between us.

The clouds came of course little back again, before it got totally clear again.

It was good and all over for a while, but quite faint for a long time, but then suddenly as a great final show, it came a crazy good dancing show in three colors.

First Private Dinner Chase this season, and this I really love ... small group, and where I can show my chef skills over the open fire ;)

Picked up my two guests from the harbour, from the cruise ship `Cunard Queen Anne`, and we went east ... could easy drive out on the coast too, but I guessed it would be too busy out there ... and the tunnel to my island in the north was closed cause some road work, so then I planned to head east to a lovely lake with surroundings mountains with a great view towards the south sky ...

The activity was super high with solar speed up to 900 km/s and that`s really fast, so I expected a great show at this lovely peaceful beach among the mountains ...

But, when we arrived the planned best spot by the lake, it was already taken ... so, I checked with a colleague of me, Dan in Arctic X, and he was staying at his "private spot" close by, and since they was only four, and I had 2, then he let me share the same beach with a small cabin between us.

As a beginning it was little green and pink activity on the north sky, and while I made the dinner for my guests, it came more and more ... so, I had my camera close by so I could take some pics while I did the cooking.

It was a realxed moment around the camp fire with no high activity, so I joined my guests for the dinner, an tasty reindeer stew with rice ... but, as very good planned, just when we was ready with the dinner, then Lady Aurora begin her tonight`s show.

My guests was happy around 10 pm, so we left 30 mins later ... and that`s the most important for me; When the guests are happy, then I am so too ;)

The greatest show came after midnight with peaks at 1 am, 3 am and 5 am, but then I was sleeping very well ... but, I have seen it around 2,000 times, so I am less Aurora Addicted than I was before ;)
