GuideGunnar's Private Aurora Chases is perfect for good friends and family adventures. In this premium chase into the Arctic wilderness, your private group will enjoy excellent service and hospitality from one of Norway's most innovative and experienced tour guides. 

GuideGunnar's Private Aurora Chase treats you to a traditional Norwegian snacks around the campfire and presents an on-screen introduction to the fascinating physics and cultural history behind the Northern Lights.

Season: GuideGunnar's Private Aurora Chases runs from late August to mid-April.
 

PRIVATE AURORA CHASE

This is a duplicate of `GuideGunnar`s Aurora Chase` which I have done in 19 seasons and 2,128 nights out.

• Minimum price: NOK 12,500
• Price for 1 - 4 guests: NOK 3,125 per guest
• Price for 5 - 8 guests: NOK 2,850 per guest
• Price for 9 - 16 guests: NOK 2,250 per guest
• Start time: 18.00 / 6 pm - Latest Return time 02.00 / 2 am
• Age: 1 - 85 years

You`ve the option for a upgrade from a normal chase to a `Dinner Chase` or a `Combo`, where an restaurant dinner is included.

PRIVATE AURORA CHASE DINNER

Menu: Reindeer stew with onion, mushroom and rice, or a fish stew with vegetables.
Vegetarian option is available too, on request.
All meals get prepared LIVE over the camp fire by Gunnar. It`s time for Theatre of Food.

PRIVATE AURORA CHASE COMBO

This is a combo of an afternoon / sunset sightseeing and Aurora Chase. Restaurant meal is included.
After your wish, I will show you the Lyngen Alps or the Magic island of Senja.
Only available: September - October 10th + March 1st - April 15th.

• Price for 2 - 4 guests: NOK 3,875 per guest
• Price for 5 - 8 guests: NOK 3,250 per guest
• Price for 9 - 12 guests: NOK 2,550 per guest
• Start time: 15.00 / 3 pm - Return time 23.00 / 11 pm

PRIVATE AURORA SNOWSHOE NIGHTWALK

This is not a chase, but an outdoor walk in our beautiful coastal environment at Sommarøy.

• Minimum price: NOK 12,500
• Price for 2 - 4 guests: NOK 3,125 per guest
• Price for 5 - 8 guests: NOK 2,650 per guest
• Start time: 19.00 / 7 pm - Latest Return time 00.00 / midnight
• Age: 15 - 75 years

PRIVATE AURORA EXTREME

This is a special tour under planning; An overnight chase with a sleep in a heated lavvo where the best clear sky are located.
Dinner, breakfast, snacks and hot drinks will be included too. No vegetarian option available.

Two guides will join you:
Marcus - a good photographer and chef
Gunnar - the main guide, the driver and chef

• Duration: 24 - 30 hours

Private Aurora Chases includes

• Pick-up from Tromsø airport (TOS), cruise ship terminals, city hotels, or your Airbnb address.
• GuideGunnar's guide service
• Snacks served around the campfire: `Lefse` is Arctic Norway's traditional and locally made pastry with cream and sweet goat cheese. Served with hot black currant juice.
• Camera tripods
• If we catch a good one, I share GuideGunnar Aurora photographs from your aurora night with you.
• A Google Map directions link showing your Aurora Chase tour route
• Return transport to your accommodations in the city or back to the airport
• GuideGunnar's tours are run in a high-quality, warm, and spacious minibus (17 seats). The minibus also features a screen, where you can watch an introduction to the Aurora Borealis en route to the Northern Lights.
  






Arctic-proof warm boots and thermo suits are available in the bus.

Sizes in the bus will be limited, so please let me know if you need more than this:

Passports

Please bring your passport (or other ID for EU citizens) for GuideGunnar's Private Aurora Chase, since as weather conditions might cause us to chase the lights across the border into Finland.

Bathrooms

GuideGunnar's Private Aurora Chase is a wilderness tour with nature's own bathroom facilities. However, there might be bathroom facilities en route during the Aurora Chase. Please don't hesitate to ask.
